History Lesson of a Lifetime

In August 2014, I joined John on a World War II battlefield tour. I had no idea what to expect, but it turned out better than any history lesson I received in grade school or college. I feel so fortunate because very few people will have the opportunity to participate in a battlefield tour with an actual World War II veteran.

The tour was excellent, and the people of France were so welcoming. I loved hearing John tell the stories of battle and victory. I loved how he equally spent the time asking people about them. He wanted to hear other people’s stories.

I will never forget the Rock of the Marne. They were so inspiring and impressive to see.

If you ever have the opportunity to take a battlefield tour, do it!
